1. Dribbling I - Each student will be taught the basics of dribbling. Emphasis will be placed on over 20 stationary and moving drills to develop better ball control.
2. Dribbling II - Emphasis will be placed on advanced techniques to help the student develop moves off the dribble and to break down defenders.
3. "Swish" Shooting - Each student will learn the proper shooting fundamental technique. Emphasis will be placed on how to shoot off the pass, dribble, and screens and how to develop a quicker release. The goal is for the player to become and more accurate, consistent and confident shooter.
4. "1,000" (400) Shooters - Each student will be taught total shooting technique and footwork. We guarantee that every player will shoot and record 1,000 (400) shots. This session is designed to break bad shooting habits by shooting a high number of repetitions with correct form. It should be recognized that the athlete is accountable for every shot in the program. This is an important concept for the player to understand. It is too easy for players to just throw up shots and have no idea how many they have shot and what happened at the rim to each shot. By recording their shot statistics they become aware of the importance of approaching each shot with the same relaxed intensity and concentration. 5. SweetMoves - This training program is intended to challenge and excite players wishing to go beyond the basic fundamentals. It is meant to be FUN, yet rewarding in terms of instilling confidence and further developing coordination and ball handling dexterity.
6.TeamPlay - A training program designed to offer game-like situations in a 3-on-3 format for applying offensive and defensive strategies and skill techniques. These skills and strategies are isolated and practiced during the station-based drill portion of the sessions. Players will then have a chance to apply these skills and strategies within a 3-on-3 team play format.
7. Competitive Shooting - A multi-week program developed by School of Hoops to train and promote shooting accuracy in a competitive shooting environment. This skill is sometimes referred to as "clutch" shooting and is what defines a great shooter...making the winning free throw when the game is on the line...knocking down the "wide open" three...being a high percentage game shooter. It requires sound shooting mechanics such as: proper footwork, precise and proper hand-to-ball positioning, effective leg-force transfer, a consistent and fully extended release, proper body and joint alignment, correct angle of release and arch, and a strong and consistent follow through. It requires mental, as well as physical training, and deals with focusing, concentration, confidence, and relaxation.
The program utilizes a shooting game called "Shootout". This game provides a standard, highly-structured, competitive free throw and perimeter shooting challenge that require participants to repetitively demonstrate consistent shooting (50% accuracy).
8. PositionPlay - Guard play program will provide training on techniques to use when closely guarded (with or without the ball). Shooting techniques including: how to get your shot off quickly, shooting off the dribble, and coming off a screen. Other areas of concentration: "attacking" the basket, purposeful dribbling, engaging multiple defenders, moves and counter-moves, 1st step explosion, and creating space.
Post play program will provide training on technique to post up your opponent and then score effectively. Other areas include: how to get open, how to attack facing the basket and with your back to the basket, playing big, finishing strong, moves and counter-moves.
